Here are some of my recent purchases, which I will soon share in outfit posts! I think texture is underrated and often overlooked. But it adds so much to the color, depth, and lines of an outfit. These items are going to be so fabulous this fall.

Suede boots are everything! And this is such a luxe, sexy, statement-making boot. I knew black would be more practical but I could not pass up this special raspberry hue. I already have so many ideas about how to wear these.
I think every woman needs a pair of fabulous boot in her wardrobe. Leather is a classic, but there’s something so romantic about suede.
The only brands that I know make high quality leather boots in extended calf sizes are DUO and Marina Rinaldi. If you are a longtime reader of the blog, you may remember these beautiful Marina Rinaldi boots I got a while back, which still look great!
I had trouble deciding which pair of DUO boots to buy. I was also in love with this Mimosa taupe suede pair. The thicker heel reminds me of Miu Miu! Can I justify another boot purchase this Fall? I don’t know!
This fur trimmed Catherine Malandrino coat is amazing—a rare find and a testament to trying clothes on—even designer pieces—because sizing can be so fluid. I think this fur trimmed coat definitely embodies that Parisian/New Yorker style for which Catherine Malandrino is known.
If you object to wearing fur, there are lots of great faux fur options out there. Some of the best right now are this darling fur trim coat from ASOS Curve or this super cute & rustic faux shearling jacket from Nordstrom. Defintely thinking about buying the latter!
Velvet can add a luxe feel to your wardrobe for a fraction of the cost of fur or suede. I love my velvet jacket because this shade of steely blue is so gorgeous. The jacket makes me think of cold places and leather armchairs. Chic in a professorial kind of way.
The key to the best possible styling of velvet is color selection. The texture of velvet has a lot of depth and I think this is what makes velvet jewel tones so appealing. I definitely recommend checking Nordstrom for this one by Halogen because the quality is amazing. I know it came in at least one other color.
