Teacher Appreciation Week Ideas – Thanks a Latte card!

May 5, 2018 By Jay

Thanks a Latte card idea

This week is #TeacherAppreciationWeek and here are two cute ideas we put together for Julia’s teachers. I know my life was made better by a few great teachers. I’m happy to show my kid’s teachers extra love this week!

Our first idea was a simple basket of school supplies–with a preschool or Kindergarten classroom in mind. You always hear about teachers who dip into their own funds for supplies! My kid’s favorite thing to do in school is art projects so I figured I’d send some art supplies. When giving a gift like this, I love to choose a functional basket that can be used for some other organizational purpose. Our basket contained construction paper, watercolor paper, watercolor paints, thick crayons, markers, easy-to-hold pencils for little hands, scissors, and glue.

The second idea is my personal favorite and can be used as a general thank-you card idea. We cut out a paper cup shape and added some cute accordioned paper, hearts, and the phrase “Thanks a latte.” So many possibilities for decorating individual cups and very simple to put together. Inside, my kid wrote a message, signed her name, and we taped Starbucks gift cards.

If we all pitched in a little and contributed our time, skills, or supplies, our classrooms would run much more smoothly! Thank you to all the great teachers out there.
